Lesson example 1:
Let us review a game between Kramnik-Leko,
last game from the match by the work championship, some year ago. (14
games) before the game Leko was up 7 to 6,
and Kranmik meeded to win, for level the match and to maintian the
title.Leko was playing very solid before this game, so looked hard for
Kranmik, but he won clearly. Let us study some key strategy moments: White: Kramnik Black: Leko 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 Caro-Kan advance variaiton.
3..Bf5 4. h4 h6 5. g4 Bd7 6. Nd2 c5 7. dxc5 e6
now the position has
characteristic seemed to the French defense.Whtie has the center, black
attacks it with the typical break move c5. The c8 bishop is not very good
becuase is blocked by its own pawns.
Follow the simplification, and
the game tends to a endgame where blakc will have a bad bishop. After
hxg5, the h4 pawn will be weak, but if black had played g5, could have
been Nxd3 and g6, and its true whtie would be better anyway, but the
question is if woul have the necesary ruptures (break moves) for winning
:. 20.hxg5 to maintians g5 for the kngiht.
:19. Rhg1 Bc6 20.gxh5 Nxh5 21. b4 a6 22. a4 Kd8 23. Ng5 Be8 24. b5 Nf4 25.
b6 Nxd3 26. Kxd3Rc8
27. Rxc8+ Kxc8 28. Rc1+ Bc6 29. Nxf7 Rxh4
finally h4 failed, but f7 too and black maintains important entries to the black position. can be noticed that the dark black squares are weak, becuase it traded the natural defender, its dark square bishop. in the rest of the game white materialized very good this strategic advantage, activing its king and creating threats on the oponnet king. 30. Nd6+ Kd8 31. Rg1 Rh3+ 32.Ke2 Ra3 33. Rxg7 Rxa4 34. f4 Ra2+ 35. Kf3 Ra3+ 36. Kg4 Rd3 37. f5 Rxd4+ 38.Kg5 exf5 39. Kf6 Rg4 40. Rc7 Rh4 41. Nf7+ 1-0
